New Year Nails

It's nearly the end of 2012 and I thought I'd end the year with some sparkly nails.

I saw this nail polish in Boots the other day and I just had to get it, it's called Amethyst Glitter by Barry M. I have a few of their nail polishes and I find them to be quite good.

I just wanted my nails to be completely covered in glitter so I had to apply 3 coats of this for it to cover my nail without another colour polish underneath.

I'm staying home for New Year's Eve with the family so we'll be having a quiet celebration this year.

Hope you all have a good New Year's Eve and I'll see you in 2013.

Glossybox October 2012

   Good Morning

I can't believe it's Christmas, this year has gone so quick, anyway I had a few days off over Christmas so I've managed to get this post up :)

I've just finished trying out the products in my October box.

Here's what I received:
  • Anatomicals Don't Just Clean It Woman, Scrub It Body Scrub
  • Dermalogica 3 Step Day And Night Kit
  • Skinetica Anti-Blemish
  • Yves Rocher France Moisturising Cream Lipstick - Couleurs Nature - 101 Framboise

Anatomicals Don't Just Clean It Woman, Scrub It Body Scrub

Beauty card: A pink grapefruit body scrub that buffs with a bravura sense of charm and wit.

I thought this scrub worked well and I will continue to use it. It has a nice grapefruit smell which I like but I'm not keen on the colour of it as it's a browny colour but that doesn't really matter as long as it does the job.

Dermalogica 3 Step Day And Night Kit

Beauty card: Cleanse, tone and moisturise with the Day/Night 3 step mini kit.

I've used this set a few times now and it works well, it says to use day and night which I haven't done sometimes but I'm pleased with it. The only part of this I'm not keen on is the toner as it's a spray and I managed to spray it in my eye one time which was not good. I will continue to use this set but I probably wouldn't buy it for myself.

Skinetica Anti-Blemish

Beauty card: A unique solution for clearing skin blemishes, showing results in 2-3 days. Kind to skin with no side effects.

I used this morning and night for 3 days on a spot and it was definitely less noticeable. It has quite a fresh smell to it and doesn't sting when you apply it so I will be using this if I get anymore spots or blemishes.

Yves Rocher France Moisturising Cream Lipstick - Couleurs Nature

Beauty card: Perfect coverage from the first application: a smooth, supple luminous film covering the lips.

I'm really liking this lipstick and I've actually put in on today for Christmas. I've put in on straight from the lipstick and it feels really nice to apply. I love the colour of this and it seems to last quite well too.

Have a good Christmas everyone.

Glossybox September 2012

I can't believe how long it's been since my last post, it's gone so quick. I've been working hard on my make up course as I only have a few months left of the course so I may not be posting much until I finish it but I'll do my best.

So I'm very behind on my Glossybox's as I've only just finished trying out the products in my September box.

This month's box has been designed by up and coming illustrator Maggie Li, I really like the design of the box.

Here's what I received:

Lady Gaga Fame Fragrance

Beauty card: An opulent, crushed floral fragrance that's black like the soul of fame but transparent once airborne.

This is Lady Gaga's first fragrance, the ingredients are: Belladonna, Tiger Orchidea, Apricot, Saffron, Honey and Incense. I wasn't sure whether I would like this when I first saw it as I usually like sweet fragrances but I actually quite like the smell of this so I may end up buying a bottle of it.

Rodial Glamoxy Snake Serum and 5 Minute Facial

Beauty card: Glamoxy Snake Serum is a revolutionary product with instantly visible results, helping to reduce the appearance of frown lines and wrinkles. 5 Minute Facial is a triple action resurfacing gommage clay mask.

My mum tested the Glamoxy Snake Serum out for me as I don't need to use it yet. After putting it on her skin felt a bit tingly and it felt like her face was a bit plumper but she didn't see much of a difference in her fine lines and wrinkles. Maybe after using it more times it may make more of a difference.  After using the 5 Minute Facial I found my skin felt refreshed and smoother.

Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream

Beauty card: A triple-action cream designed to soothe tired eyes, smooth away dark shadows and reduce the appearance of fine lines.

I've actually tried this out before as I received one with a magazine I bought a few months ago. I have noticed that when using this the dark shadows under my eyes don't look as bad so I'm trying to use this everyday.

Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream

Beauty card: This bestselling daily moisturiser hydrates skin, leaving it feeling soft and smooth.

I really like this product, I've used it before as it's very moisturising and nice to put on as it's absorbed very quickly. It smells quite nice and I like the cute little pot too.

Biosilk Silk Therapy

Beauty card: A lightweight leave-in treatment that helps moisturise and restructure your hair without heaviness.

I used this on my hair yesterday after I washed it and it's feeling lovely and silky now so I will definitely be using up the rest of the bottle. It also made my hair look a lot shinier.

I will do my best to get up the post on my October Glossybox soon.

Ombre Nails - Pink & Yellow

I haven't really painted my nails for a few weeks so last night I thought I'd have a go at doing ombre nails, I used 2 nail polishes by Barry M in Bright Pink and Lemon. I love these colours.

I didn't find it too difficult to do except as I was dabbing the polish onto my nails with the sponge, bits of it kept coming off so I either need more practice or different sponges. I'll have another go in a few weeks with some different colours.

Glossybox August 2012 Review

Good Morning :)

Well I've had a chance to try out all the products in my August Glossybox so here's what I thought.

Alessandro Pro White - Germany

Beauty card: Optically brightening effect nail polish with anti-yellowing formula for radiant white and gleaming nails.

Sometimes I do find my nails look a bit yellow after wearing nail polish so when I saw this I thought this would be great for when I don't wear polish. At the moment my nails are not looking yellow so I couldn't really test this out properly so I may have to put a little review of this up another time.

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil - Japan

Beauty card: This revolutionary water-soluble cleanser is better than any other make-up remover you've tried.

I haven't tried out too many cleansers as most of the time I use face wipes but since starting my make up course I am beginning to use them more. This worked well and removed all my make up but I'm not keen on the feel of the oil when applying it, I do prefer to use the cream cleansers.

All For Eve For The Eve Appeal Eve's Balm

Beauty card: Eve's balm is an easily absorbed recovery balm to nourish dry chapped skin.

I love the little pot that this comes in and it has a lovely little mirror too. I found this quite softening on my skin and I will definitely be putting this in my handbag to use everyday.

Vera Valenti L'ombre a Paupiere Margarita - Spain

Beauty card: An eyeshadow palette offering a selection of ten different colours with an applicator included.

The three lighter colours don't show up too well on my skin but I'll be able to use them for highlighting and a more natural look.

I love green eyeshadows so i'm sure I will be wearing these ones a lot.

Lipcote - UK

Beauty card: The original lipstick sealer and secret of long lasting, feather fade and water resistant lipstick.

I wasn't too keen on the smell of this when I applied it and it actually made my lips sting for a little bit but it does seem to work as my lipstick wasn't coming off much throughout the day.

Glossybox Lipstick in Glossy Pink

Beauty card: Professional beauty lipstick for soft and glamorous lips with a luminous, long lasting colour.

This was quite soft to put on which I like and its quite a nice colour which I will probably wear to work. I wore this for about half a day and the colour was long lasting like they said.

Glossybox August 2012

I'm actually a bit behind on my Glossybox as I've just recieved my September box but I haven't looked at it yet as I don't want to spoil the surprise before I've looked at my August box.

This month's box has a theme of International Superstars and contains products from different countries.

Here's what I recieved:
  • Alessandro Pro White - Germany
  • DHC Deep Cleansing Oil - Japan
  • All For Eve For The Eve Appeal Eve's Balm
  • Vera Valenti L'ombre a Paupiere Margarita - Spain
  • Lipcote - UK
  • Glossybox Lipstick in Glossy Pink

I've had a quick look at each of the products and I think I may like most of them but I'm going to try them out this week then post up my review and hopefully I can get back up to date soon :)

Glossybox July 2012 Review Part 2

I meant to post this a few days ago but I've been really busy.
Here's the 2nd part of my Glossybox July 2012 review.

Collin Resultime Regenerating Collagen Gel

Beauty card says: Multitasking superhero containing 15 key skin molecules. Use daily as a serum or sleep mask.

I don't need to use this yet as I'm still quite young so my mum tried this out for me.

She said, " It had a nice texture to put on and my skin felt softer and smoother straight away and my wrinkles were less noticeable. I would definitely recomment using this product."

If this product is still about when I need it then I might start using it.

Awapuhi Wild Ginger Texturizing Sea Spray

Beauty card says: Create a tousled, beachy style any time. This surf inspired spray adds texture and body to any locks.

Not that my hair needs any more texture as there is so much of it, I tried this out anyway. I sprayed it on my hair when it was damp but I wasn't too keen on it as I didnt think it worked too well and just made my hair feel a bit yucky. I may try it on my hair when it's dry to see if it comes out any better. I think this is more suitable for people who's hair is not as thick.
