Blog changes

I've been thinking about my blog a lot the past couple of weeks as I'm not sure the name is going to fit for much longer. I like my red hair but I love to experiment and change the colour.

 I know I've only changed my blog recently but I think if I'm not happy with it then it's better to change it sooner rather than later. 

I have thought up a new name which will fit whatever I change about myself or the blog and I really like it so I hope you like it too.

Glossybox September 2013

Hiya, hope you're having a good week so far. I am now officially unemployed, Friday was my last day at work and I'm so pleased that I don't have to go back there anymore. I just wasn't happy and I will now be moving onto better things like my IT course.

Here's a photo of the lovely cakes I made which I meant to show you last week. They are chocolate fudge cakes and are so yummy. Everyone at work loved them.

I know I said I was going to post about my Glossybox last weekend but I hadn't actually had a chance to try out the products by then so here it is today. This month's theme is London and the box is covered in a union jack.

Elizabeth Arden - Untold 

This perfume has a floral fragrance which celebrates the sophistication and intrigue of modern women. It's refined, mysterious, unpredictable, sensual and vibrant. I think the packaging is quite classy and it has an unusual bottle shape which I like and it makes it different. It has a nice floral smell and makes me think of someone quite sophisticated. 

Eylure - Pre-glued Lashes

These lashes are pre-glued and are easy to apply, you just remove the lash from the tray and apply. I I haven't actually used these yet as I want to same them for when I go out somewhere nice.

Toni&Guy Hair Meet Wardrobe - Classic Shine & Gloss Serum

This serum has limited edition packaging by Lulu Kennedy for Toni & Guy Hair Meet Wardobe collection. The serum controls frizz and adds shine. I applied this on my hair this morning and it toned down the frizz on my hair a lot and made it feel quite smooth. I'm always a bit worried about using hair products as some of them make my hair feel horrible but this one I like.

Be A Bombshell Cosmetics - Onyx Eye Liner

This is a best selling eyeliner which lasts all day. It is a felt tip eyeliner and you can draw thin or thick lines . It's easy to apply and it dries in seconds. Eyeliner is one of my favourite make up products and I really like the felt tip ones as they are so easy to apply. I've been wearing this all day so far and it's still firmly in place.

Rimmel - Stay Blushed Blusher

This is Rimmel's first liquid cheek tint, it has a light formula which doesn't clog pores and lasts up to 24hrs. It's a nice peachy colour called Sunkissed Cherry, it blends quite well on the skin and you can get varied shades depending on how much you blend it in. I only tried it on my hand but I'm sure it's going to look a lot better on my cheeks.

Also in this month's box was included Glossybox's first Magazine which includes interviews, current beauty trends and tips.

Midweek Nails - Girls With Attitude Nail Art

I've just spent about 2 hours making cakes to take into work tomorrow as I'm leaving this week and I'm knackered. I was going to take a photo to show you but I've packed them all away now so I'll take one tomorrow before everyone eats them.

Luckily I managed to paint my nails this morning before work. I picked another dark colour this week as I thought it would show off the nail art stickers quite nicely.

The nail polish is from Avon in Midnight Plum and the nail art stickers are mainly flowers with some diamantes. I only applied stickers to 3 of my nails so it wasn't too much and I also added a diamante on my thumb nail.

 I've got my IT course after work tomorrow so I'll post up my cakes on Friday (my last day at work, so excited).

Midweek Nails - Black As Night

I was going to paint my nails last night but I was quite busy sorting out all the stuff I need for my college course which starts tonight. I'm kind of excited for it but really anxious too as I don't know what to expect and I'm quite shy so I get nervous meeting new people. Hopefully it will all go ok.

Onto my nails this week, I've just painted them quickly this morning as I haven't got much time but I don't like not having polish on, it just feels weird. I chose to use a plain black polish as I haven't worn just black on it's own for ages. I used my Avon matte polish in Black As Night (the only black polish I have) and applied a top coat over so that my nails are nice and shiny.

Avon NailArt Hot Pink Bling

Sorry for not posting for a couple of weeks, I did plan to do a nails post on Wednesday but didn't actually get time to do it as I've been quite busy. 

On my nails this week I chose to try out some nail wraps. I've used nail wraps before that needed heat to apply and they didn't work too well so I was a bit disappointed. I thought I'd give them another try though as they do have some nice patterns.

The nail wraps I'm using are from Avon and they are called Hot Pink Bling. Very pretty.

These nail wraps were really easy to apply and I will be getting some more in other patterns. All you have to do is peel off the sticker and apply to your nail then file away the end. Easy peasy.
Some of the nails do have a few creases but after I've done them a few times I should get better.

I've just received my next Glossybox so I'll get a post up on that next weekend after I've tried out the products.

Irregular Choice

Hello, welcome to my new blog. 

I'm Kat and I was the author of prettiekittie.co.uk so if you followed that blog then you can find all my previous posts from there on here. I've been really excited to set up up my new blog and start posting, so here we go ....

To start off my new blog I thought I'd do a post on one of my favourite shoe brands, which is Irregular Choice. Quite a few years ago they brought out a pair of shoes that I really wanted but couldn't afford at the time. A couple of weeks ago I finally found a pair being sold on eBay so I had to get them. (I've been buying a lot of stuff off eBay lately). Anyway the shoes arrived last week and I absolutely love them as they have cute little unicorns on and a lovely pink ribbon.

I love the Irregular Choice shoes as they are different to all the other brands and they are really comfortable to wear too. I currently have 5 pairs but I will definitely be buying more to add to my collection.

The May box celebrates Glossybox's 2nd birthday and they've put some lovely products in this box.

Awapuhi Wild Ginger - Shine Spray

This product leaves hair soft, silky and hydrated and it contains products which are proven to restore weak and damaged hair. I've used this a few times now and it has made my hair shiny but it also feels silky smooth.

Jelly Pong Pong - Fairy Lashes Mascara

This mascara is waterproof, long lasting and feather light. It's not clumpy and it lengthens and gives volume to the lashes. The photo below shows me wearing this mascara. I love the box this comes in, it's very pretty.

Collection - Fast Stroke Eyeliner

I actually already have one of these eyeliners and I've been using this for quite a few years. This is definitely one of my favourite eyeliners, it's easy to use and lasts all day.

Headline Colors - Poolside Party Nail Polish

This is a brand new colour collection and each colour has an ultra high pigment for rich, intense colour and gloss. It also has UV absorbers so there is less chipping and flaking. It's a lovely blue colour which would be perfect by the pool. I applied 2 coats for this coverage and so far it hasn't chipped so i'm quite pleased

Beautiful Movements Cosmetics - Prime & Create Mixing Medium

This is a new product added to former Pussycat Doll Kimberley Wyatt's range of beauty must haves. It's a clear aloe vera based gel which can be used as a primer or mixed with foundation, blusher or eye shadows. It's only a little pot so I just tried a tiny bit out on my face as a primer and it gives a shine free and matte base to work on.

Midweek Nails - Barry M Sequins

I have a few days off work now as my sister is visiting so I thought I'd paint my nails this morning. I used another Barry M polish today that I bought last week. It's from their sequin collection and is called White.

I liked how it looked in the bottle so I used a white base on my nails then put the sequins over the top.

My nails feel quite bumpy even with a top coat on, I was expecting this a little because of the sequins but it actually looks like there are loads of little air bubbles on my nails from the sequin polish. Not sure if it's supposed to be like that or not but I like the sequins and they'd be great for going to a party.
