Spring Makeup

Good morning lovelies,

I'm up nice and early today as my cat is off on her holidays to the cattery this morning. She is not going to be happy about that.

Anyway, I've been slacking a bit on my makeup posts so here's some spring looks that I've been wearing the past week.

Here's all the makeup products that I used.

I love the Nyx box of eye shadows, there's just so many different colours.

I'm going away for a week and half to Cyprus now so I won't be able to do any posts until I return but i'll be trying to do bits while i'm on holiday that I can show you when I get back.

Midweek Nails - Models Own Bubblegum

This week I decided to go for a bright neon nail polish ready for when I go on my holiday this weekend. I'm off to Cyprus for about a week and I can't wait as i really need a break from work.

This is my first Models Own polish and it's a neon pink called Bubblegum from the Ice Neon Collection. I love it.

It has a bright neon bottle to match with the polish colour

They also do a neon purple, red, yellow and green so I may have to buy some of them as well.

Glossybox April 2013

I love the pattern on this months box, it's really pretty and my favourite so far. The print for this box was designed by Pearl Lowe and inspired by her love of all things vintage and floral.

Richard Ward Couture Hair - Optimiser Style Reviver

This product contains Wheat Protein and Kukui Oil which helps counteract frizz and increase shine. It also creates great volume without leaving residue or stickiness.

I wouldn't use this as my hair is really thick and I don't really need anymore volume in my hair so my mum tried this out on her hair as it can be quite flat sometimes. We sprayed on sections of her hair and then re-styled her and it did give her hair more volume and helped with the frizz. It also smells a bit fruity which is good as if it's going to be on your hair for a while then you want it to smell nice.

Yves Rocher France - Nutritive Vegetal 24H Comfort Nourishing Cream

This moisturiser contains ash tree sap extract, macadamia oil, shea butter and organic witch hazel water. It intensely nourishes the skin and leaves it feeling soft and supple for 24 hours. It's also free of parabens and colouring.

This was really nice to put on your skin and it's very moisturising. You don't need to use a lot of it either as a small amount goes a long way.

Nip+Fab - Dry Skin Fix Body Butter in Mango

This is an ultra rich whipped body butter that repairs dry and dehydrated skin with the 24 hour moisture boosting ingredient Aquaxyl which improves the skins water reserves and instantly improves the appearance of your skin.

I love the smell of this, it's very fruity, I could almost eat it but I won't. It feels lovely to apply and it is absorbed into the skin quite quickly. A perfect product to be used in the summer.

Balance Me - Radiance Face Mask

This face mask cleanses, exfoliates and brightens the skin by using a unique blend of purifying kaolin clay, skin brightening fruit acid complex, ground walnut shells and calming essential oils.

My skin felt lovely and fresh after using this. I wasn't keen on the smell of this though and if I'm going to be leaving it on my face for 5 mins then I need it to smell nice.

Essie - Nail Lacquer

Essie has an infinite pallet of shades for high quality professional looking manicures. I received a lovely red colour called Geranium.

I'm still wearing my new Illamasqua nail polish so I painted my mum's nails with this polish. It's got a nice large brush so you can cover most of your nail in one swipe. It's also very shiny on it's own so I didn't apply a top coat.

Midweek Nails - Illamasqua Omen

This week I'm wearing my new polish that I bought from Illamasqua last week. This is the first polish I've tried of theirs and when I saw their new Paranormal collection I just had to get one of the new polishes. I've really been looking forward to wearing this.

The colour i bought is a bright green called Omen. I like the look of all the new colours but I just had to pick one as they are £15 and I couldn't afford more than one this month. It is a UV polish so will glow under a UV light, I can't wait to see this but I don't have a UV light so I won't be able to show you a photo.

 
I like the packaging of this and the bottle of the polish, it's quite plain but i think it looks very professional. It was easy to apply on my nails, i hardly made a mess at all and usually it's terribly messy. The polish dries quite quickly and you need 2 coats for full coverage. It is a really bright green and very shimmery.

























I really like this polish and I'll definitely be buying more from Illamasqua.

MeMeMe purchases

I've just bought a few makeup products from MeMeMe Cosmetics in the sale. I was introduced to this brand by my February Glossybox and thought I'd try out some of their other products.


I bought 3 Nail polishes, a base coat as I don't have one right now and 2 colours in Amorous and Defiant. They were in the sale for £1.25 so I thought i'd buy a few. They have lovely brushes and you can cover almost the whole nail in just one brush stroke. They dry reasonably quick as well which is a bonus as I tend to get smudges and dents on my nails if they don't dry quick enough.

I got a pink lip gloss called Luminous with comes with a little mirror attached to the side and there is also a light at the base of the lipgloss stick which lights up when you pull it out. This will be very handy when going out for the night.

It gives a nice shine and it feels quite moisturing on my lips.







I got an eyeliner called Lagoon which is quite a dark blue and it's very easy to apply as it's quite soft. I really like the colour of this and it actually goes quite nicely with the lipgloss above.





I also bought another FatCat mascara to replace the one I got in my February Glossybox as I love it.

Midweek Nails - OPI Liquid Sand Get Your Number

This week I bought my first OPI nail polish and I love it. It's a liquid sand polish from the Mariah Carey collection and it's called Get Your Number, I saw a swatch of the colour and just had to get it.


It's textured and gives a matte finish. It really does look quite like sand and it's super glittery.



The colour makes me think of under the sea and mermaids and dolphins. I absolutely love it.
