Glossybox January 2013

Afternoon Beauties

The weather may not be very good but my day is going to be lovely as I'm going round my aunt's for afternoon tea with cakes, cookies and tea. Yummy!

Anyway, this is my first Glossybox of 2013 and the January box is focused on detoxing.

Elemis Fresh Skin - Skin Glow Facial Exfoliator

Beauty card: Developed by Elemis to accompany you from your teens to mid-twenties, the Freshskin range aims to nurture skin and help prevent premature ageing. With a deep pore cleansing action, this exfoliating facial wash combines cherry powder and jojoba beads to gently polish away dead skin cells and help refine skin texture. Enriched with mandarin and aniseed your skin will appear brighter and more radiant and left feeling soft and smooth.

I'm quite pleased with this product as it is quite gritty which I like so it can proper scrub at my skin. Afterwards my skin felt really fresh and smooth and I smelt all citrusy which was lovely.

Duck Island Limited - Body Lotion

Beauty card: Stimulating the senses while capturing the aromas of the East (a fragrant combination of mandarin and bergamot), this indulgent body lotion will help you relax, while simultaneously stimulating your senses. For centuries, Eastern cultures have recognised the benefits of natural extracts - a tradition embodied by Duck Island's paraben - and mineral oil free formulations.

I'm not sure whether I like the smell of this but it is a good product. It's easily absorbed and there is no stickiness. It leaves your skin feeling lovely and moisturised.

Jason - Lips Bee Healthier

Beauty card: The Jason brand name means 'healer' in Greek. The results-driven therapeutic blends of their formulas and wholesome, natural ingredients reflect this. Alongside the under-eye skin, the skin on our lips shows signs of dehydration fastest. This is due to the fact that the lips only have thin surface layers of skin, which dry out faster than other areas and are exposed to dry, cold air outdoors and low humidity indoors. To prevent  parched and cracked lips, this rich, natural lip balm stick combines moisture-trapping Beeswax, Vitamin E, and Green Tea Extract. Organic Aloe Vera Gel helps heal, soothe and protect chapped lips, while Shea Butter and Sweet Almond Oil moisturise.

As soon as you put this on it makes your lips feel cool and tingly. It gives your lips and bit of a shine and its quite moisturising. The smell of this is minty which I don't mind but every time I put it on I could just taste mint in my mouth constantly which I didn't like. All you mint fans out there will probably love this.

Monu - Aromatic Mask

Beauty card: This warming facial mask helps increase vitamin and mineral absorption, instantly renewing and invigorating your skin. Natural clay provides a deep cleanse, while stimulating and renewing cell health. Beeswax and coconut oil soften, nourish and hydrate the skin, leaving it boosted and radiant.

I don't usually like the feel of putting face masks on but this one felt alright as it was kind of warming on the skin and you can't really feel it on your face. Afterwards my skin felt really clean and smooth. I will definitely be using this once a week.

Premae Skincare - Balance Rescue Face Tonique

Beauty card: A refreshing face toner for combination skin, this mattifies and rejuvenates congested skin. With antiseptic lemongrass and sandalwood oil as well as hydrating rose water, this alcohol-free, fragrance-free solution will cut through dirt and excess oil to close pores without stripping skin of its natural oils, leaving your skin feeling fresh and plump.

This has a really floral scent which I'm not keen on but it does the job its supposed to and removes any left over dirt and oil.

Also, I got a little freebie in the box, a lovely eye mask.
